Hevososteopaatin tehtävänä on pyrkiä löytämään syyt hevosta vaivaavien oireiden takaa.

Häiriötilat rajoittavat hevosen kykyä liikkua täydellisessä harmoniassa heikentäen merkittävästi elämänlaatua ja urheilusuoritusta; pahimmassa tapauksessa ne mahdollistavat uusien vammojen syntymisen.

Oireiden hoitamisen ohella osteopatialla pyritään korjaamaan niiden syvin syy.
